well I FINALLY went inside a bunch o' bars and taverns I have never set foot in........I really liked Sadie's Flying Elephant and the Rite Spot Cafe for ambiance.......Double Play has been a bar since 1909.....who knew? wondering if this is a cop hangout.....the pretzels were stale and my Spaten tasted not so hot.....Bender's is a biker/rock n' roll sorta divey joint.....the newish Inner Mission Tavern[used to be Thieve's] is spacious and comfortable w/ some nice choices on tap and in bottle......bartender David quite talkative and pleasant.......Elixir was mobbed and I didn't sample any of their offerings[I had had enuff].....so that's my lil' report about the crawl.......thanks to Uncle Paul for setting it up and I wish him a very happy and healthy 49 and a warm congrats on his and Sophie's engagement!!!
