It's pretty laid back--bring your own BBQ stuff to grill...things get started at 5PM grill-wise. If there is a large crowd, the beer will all be gone by about 8:30-ish...so plan to get there as early as possible. The beer is a pre-Prohibition style West Coast lager. Also, if you bring a stopper bottle, you >might< be able to take some home...just respect the open container laws as the Oaksterdam cops like to hang out in the parking lot. I'm told the brewing equipment being installed is from Bison Brewing, which finally finished brewing in Berkeley and moved up to Chico to brew in cooperation with Butte Creek Brewing. Not sure where Linden Street is brewing in the meantime, maybe at Trumer or Drakes?
I have had the Linden Street Common beer at the Trappist and it was nice enough, though less like Anchor Steam than I expected. -

I was just there this past Friday and the beer was really, really fresh and very good. According to the website, they brewed a special batch of beer at Triple Rock for the Firkin Festival and that's what is on tap now until they run out again. Also, it looks like their gas line is going in in the next few days/weeks and the hop to be brewing on-site by the end of the month...finally! -

Mon, May 5, 2008 - 2:27 PMok......this Fri will be the LAST free beer deal at Linden's....at least for awhile or maybe forever.[see lindensbeer.com for details]......who can or wants to go?I can lv as early as 4 but will wait for others if others want to go.......let me know......it sounds like we can walk from the West Oakland BART station.....I guess we could cab it there and/or back as well[although good chance I'll be staying in the East Bay but still need to get back to BART]........I really am going to do this so tag along!!!! -

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 10:44 PMThey start pouring around 5-ish, the BBQ grill is fired up at around 6-ish and beer runs out sometime between 8 and 10PM depending on whether one or two taps are going, inclination of the owners, whether they tap out, etc. -

Sat, May 10, 2008 - 11:32 AMDP and I made it by Ferry and then walked to Linden's. Only the lager on tap which was good at the start. Seemed to get bitter as it got later. There was a lot of food but we had taken some sausages for the barbi. Everything free. One of the owners, Alice, was kind enough to give us a ride to BART when we were ready to go home. The brewery is very small which is probably why there was only the lager available. Adam is co-owner and brewmaster but Alice told us he has no experience in brewing. Very nice couple and the space was fun. Would make a great place for a corporate party, large parking lot, BBQ, Beer on tap. -

Sat, May 10, 2008 - 3:22 PMI second all that!!! very homespun comfortable atmosphere for a brewery.......couches,theatre seats,odds and ends......they've been around since 2005 but now I guess they're shifting into 2nd gear........I wish them loads o' luck......Alice said they'd be continuuing the Fri evening deal in June when they reopen.....it would be fun for more of us to go next time......keep ya posted..... -
